I sat down today to share a story about Rockie’s ears.
Somehow, that led to updating my LinkedIn profile, untangling a couple of Substack identities, and discovering how quickly one small task can wander off into the woods.
I used to think every detour meant I had gotten distracted.
I’m not so sure anymore.
Sometimes a side trail shows you something that needed attention. Sometimes it clears a little brush. Sometimes it simply helps you see the path you were already on more clearly.
The question may not be whether we wandered.
Maybe it’s whether we still know what trail we’re walking.
Today, I think I did.
Mostly.
